A CABINET-LEVEL committee approved the construction of flood control projects and bridges, as well as the financing program for small agriculture enterprises, the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) said.

In a statement yesterday, NEDA said that its Investment Coordination Committee-Cabinet Committee (ICC-CabCom) approved the three projects on March 8.

It included the construction of P39.2 billion flood management systems along the Ambal-Simuay River and Rio Grande de Mindanao River that forms part of the Mindanao River Basin — the second largest in the country.

The panel also approved the construction of 10 bridges crossing the Pasig-Marikina River and the Manggahan Floodway worth P27.37 billion — which is part of the administration’s list of 75 so-called “flagship projects.” — Elijah Joseph C. Tubayan
