Fly Me to The Moon

RODY VERA’S Fly Me to the Moon is set to be staged on Oct. 13-22 at Arts Above Artists Playground II. Kiddie educational fair

KIDS AND parents can enjoy activities that stimulate learning at the grand launch of the Grolier Carnival Fair at Ali Mall, Araneta Center in Quezon City. There will be a play area, a reading corner and drawing area, plus a creative challenge corner, free balloons for everyone, a balloon-twisting show, and a Talking English Mascot who will teach basic dance steps. For a minimum single receipt purchase of P500 from Ali Mall food and retail shops, Grolier will also offer a book and child development program briefing for free. Romantic film festival

Ampalaya Monologues

TO CELEBRATE two years of artistic bitterness, the team from Ampalaya Monologues presents a one-night only anniversary show Ampalaya Dialogues #TwoIsBitterThanOne on Oct. 14, 7 p.m. –10 p.m. at the PETA Theater Center, Eymard Road, Quezon City. This is a showcase of six short one-act plays that feature two characters in each story, all of which are written by Mark Ghosn and performed by actors of Theatre in Alternative Platforms (TAP). Translated tragedy

TANGHALANG PILIPINO presents Ang Pag-uusig, a translation of Arthur Miller’s The Crucible on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until Oct. 22, at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m., at the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ Tanghalang Huseng Batute. Translated by Jerry Respeto and directed by Dennis Marasigan, the play dramatizes the use of “the establishment” of the powerful few in condemning the innocent.
