Renegades

A team of Navy SEALS in war-torn Europe discover a treasure at the bottom of a lake and plan to retrieve it and return it to its rightful owners. But when they are detected by the enemy, they find themselves with only 10 hours to carry out their mission. Directed by Steven Quale, it stars Ewen Bremner, J.K. Simmons, and Sullivan Stapleton.

Tokyo Ghoul

A Tokyo college student is attacked by a ghoul and survives — but has become a part ghoul and becomes a fugitive on the run. “Stylishly decorated and generating all-important sympathy for a character living precariously in two worlds, director Kentaro Hagiwara’s feature debut gets the drama right but is let down by visual effects that are sometimes unconvincing,” writes Richard Kuipers of Variety.

The Vault

Two estranged sisters are forced to rob a bank in order to save their brother — but when things go wrong, they find themselves in a basement vault which turns out to be the home of something truly evil. Directed by Dan Bush, it stars Francesca Eastwood, James Franco, and Taryn Manning. “Ultimately, The Vault isn’t silly enough to be horrendously memorable or tense enough to be effective as the genre exercise it could have been. It falls into that underdeveloped gap in the middle,” writes Brian Tallerico of RogerEbert.com.
